LowerMyBills is the first nationwide online cross-savings center. It offers one-stop comparison shopping for virtually all of today’s necessities: phone/cable/internet utilities, insurance, credit cards, mortgage rates, just to name a few.
To bolster their online efforts, LowerMyBills decided to explore an affiliate marketing program (attract sales reps). Lacking an in-house support staff and with only a limited budget, they came to us.
Four-fold: 1.) Within six weeks, they wanted an aggressive affiliate program up and running. 2.) Drive traffic to their new site. 3.) Increase user base 4.) Build brand awareness
We recommended they offer an aggressively competitive commission structure, to quickly attract a high volume response. The next step was to recommend a technology service provider that could enable affiliate managers the flexibility to create personalized affiliate programs. This was a departure from the template-style programs in use at that time.
The original timeline was 42 days — we did it in 26. And we quickly had affiliates of varying traffic demographics signing up as fast as they could be activated into the system. All of which accounted for a remarkable first month — our program accounted for 9% of all registered users. In month two, this rose to 55%. This exceptional ROI achieved our goals for driving traffic and increasing registered users.
